Central Locking MK1 vRS front passenger lock stuck.

Featured Replies

OK so bear with me, I'm no mechanic, but I'm a little too poor right now to pay garage fees for something that may only need some WD/grease & time/patience.

Front passenger door will not lock automatically anymore, but it will unlock, sometimes. I'm thinking the motor's fine but I need the door cards off to access offending part, douse in WD, clean off & regrease.

So, am I totally wrong, can I get to the offending part this way? Or am I likely to make it worse? If I'm right, what's the best way to get the door cards off?

My technical proficiency: 2 Spanners (generous: I've fitted new stereo, exhaust clamp & glowplugs thus far).

There's a thread on here somewhere showing you how to take them off. I'm on my phone so I can't get you the link.
