Hello All....(also I have a question about my car)

Featured Replies

Hello All,

My name is Leo, im a 34 year old British male living in London and I've been the proud owner of my Skoda Fabia 1.2HTP (2003) (Manual transmission) model for just over 2 weeks. This is also my first car as I passed my test in february this year.

I do have a question: there is a hole on the floor, just to the rear, right hand side of the passenger seat.  - Does anyone know what this is for?  Being safety conscious I bought 2 emergency glass hammers / seat belt cutters, one of which I keep in the glove box in the front, the other in the rear, but as the seats have no magazine holders in the back I found this hole which was just the right fit for the bright orange hammer. (the hammer is the orange bit youll see sticking out of the hole in the attached pic.)

I am wondering though......what is this hole actually for?

thanks,

Regards,

Leo

It's an air vent :)

Yup, it's connected to your fan system so your passengers get warmth or cool air

in the back.

Here's a question... Will you be able to reach that life hammer if you are

trapped in your seat  (and possibly upside down as it is a Fabia after all)?

I think a different place may be more sensible in case you need it one day.

With the seatbelts possibly locked it may be impossible to reach that at all. My cutter is in the glovebox, none in the back. You pose quite a quandary about having one in the back. I usually have a couple of kids in the back.

Thanks guys for your response and hmmm yes I'll take it out then!

Last question.....when im travelling along and I first put my foot on the clutch. (I mean when I just place my foot on the pedal before applying any pressure) I feel a vibration coming from it.  Is this 'normal' ?
