I'm looking to buy some depo headlights from wingmirrorman, I have the link for the ds2 bulbs and the adapter harness I will need to plug into the ballast, but I have 55w hids at current I assume I'll need to purchase new 35w ones? Does anything from the depo headlights/ bulb plug into the ballast (the square connection block?) or do the two wires from the ds2 adapters plug into the ballast and that's it?

You can use either 55w or 35w ballasts. I used 55w ones and they were specifically d2s ballasts. If you use the adapters and some old ballasts ie that took h7 or h whatever, the adapters plug into the existing looms on the ballasts to convert them to use the d2s bulbs.

What square plug?

Basically, the d2s bulb fits into the adapter then plugs into the 2 small connectors instead of the bulb and wires shown in the pic below

The silver bit on the left is the mounting for the ballast. The top 2 on the right are for the connectors on the end of the d2s adapter which the bulb will plug directly into, the bottom oval connector is where the two wires connect via the oval plug in the kit that connect to the original bulb connector inside the light unit at the other end.

The square plug I think you're referring to comes directly from the headlight unit and plugs into the ballast.

The D2S lead than comes from the ballast to the bulb.

The entire headlight unit is powered through the large plug that is just to the left hand side of the indicator holder. You unplug this when you remove your current headlights. All quite simple really once everything is in front of you!

Sorry i'm not posting in the for sale section, but mine are going to be for sale soon (the whole lot inc. ballasts & bulbs etc). Only had them fitted to the car for a couple of weeks before I found myself a set of genuine ones, so these are redundant. Not a scratch or mark on them. Drop me a PM if you're interested
