Broken Electric Window

Featured Replies

Hi All,  Sorry, I'm afraid I've not posted for AGES, a mix of being lucky and the car being ok and also spending far too much time on the Yamaha Fazer forum!   :p

I've got an '04 L & K Octavia estate.  The passenger electric window failed today, so I've had the door trim off and found the following lying at the bottom of the door. (see pic)

I can see a frayed wire hanging down and the broken end at the bottom where it's fixed to the door. I can also see where this piece needs to go, and I would think the wire threads through it and needs to be under tension.  Here ends my skill set (most probably).

I'm thinking garage, because I'm no mechanic.  Is this a fairly easy fix for a garage or is it a replacement of a very expensive, much bigger part?

Cheers in advance.
