Lowering and track widening

Featured Replies

I have looked on here at the posts dealing with lowering and have decided to go with the eibach pro kit E10-79-010-04-22

The spacer thing is the thing I am still unsure of.

Who has fitted them and what would you say would be the ideal increase in track?

Also, have you increased the rear more than the front? imo the rear wheels look like they are shy as standard

Cheers in advance

Putting H&R springs on mine (VRS TDI DSG combi), but not intending to use spacers.

Agree with you that the rear wheels (especially) look like they're too far inboard as standard… one of the things that catches my eye the most… but I'm remedying this with the use of 8.5J ET42 rims (in place of the standard 7.5J ET51's).

From my calculations this will solve the problem (as it did similarly on my MKII facelift).

Will post pics once done… but not for a couple of weeks as car only being built this week (BW23)!

Excellent, I think new wheels are a good option. I really like the vRS wheels though so will try and make the best with them.

I am unsure how wide will be too wide. I think 10mm spacers on the back and 6 on the front. That is what I am thinking.

Amazon sold out of the Eibachs at the moment anyway.

no spacers on front and 10mm on back would prob sort it

Ok, thanks for that advice, I will get on it in a weeks time.

Will go for back only and see how it looks once it is sitting a bit lower

Try DM Car Tuning for the springs. German site but easy enough to navigate through with Bing Translator if you cannot speak 'ze' language. Found them to have excellent prices and tracked delivery in about 3 days, and goods supplied with all the relevant TUV certificates.

Personally I'd go 15-20mm rear and 10mm front if using spacers (also available through DM).
