Test Drive Tribulations.....

Featured Replies

The Epic of Gwilo's Car Buying Saga rumbles on....and enters a "long term planning" phase rather than rash purchases.....

I rashly put in a request for a 24hr test drive of a Superb.  Then found out the nearest dealer was 20+ miles away (Simpsons, Preston).

I thought this would be fine and awaited the call back.

Two days running now, Skoda UK have rung, I've answered the phone and sat there saying "Hello?  Hello? for a minute or two while someone on the other end of the phone shuffles papers, fiddles with a pen and types on a keyboard.....then hangs up.

How hard can it be to work a phone? :dull:

As it is, Simpsons seem to have a mixed reception on here as dealers.

The more I think about it anyway, I think SWMBO would rather we got a 1.2 or 1.4 Yeti....I'm tempted by the 1.6 TDI......either way it would have to be DSG, as I'm tired of manual cog swapping.

And I don't suppose any dealer is doing a 24hr test drive on a such a Yeti.

So, back to the planning drawing board.....(and saving pennies.

How about trying a shorter Yeti test first?  You might find that it just doesn't suit and can be eliminated from the search.  :|
