Standart sms, not mms. Is there any settings on phone or maxidot for the sms like apn settings?

  • Is it the wifi menu you are looking in? It may need coding, mine did, it wasnt set up for wifi... I had to change the last two digits to 0101 in the long coding. Adam

  • You understand me correctly. Have you entered the details of your apn in the settings. In other words, I mean your phone's data profile. Adam

  • Its basically the settings you apply to your phone to enable it to use data. Effectively it tells the phone the carrier of the data service e.g. o2, vodafone or your provider in Turkey. There is a set

No I dont think there is but there is a byte in the coding for vcds for voice control. It is the second byte (there is a byte 0 so it is byte 1) and should be 00 for active.

Adam

On my phone there is two section for the apn; one of them is "internet" the other one is "mms". On the maxidot while setting the apn i only entered "internet"; should i enter it "internet+mms" or something like that?

I dont think it is that. More likely to be coding related as it recognises an sms..

Adamal, can you send me full info/values/settings to be changed/entered on the vcds somehow?

I can send you my coding for sure. It is 020000010100010000000101. I found the coding framework online too taken from vcds (see http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?act=url&depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&nv=1&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://187509.homepagemodules.de/t1318f7-Codierungen-und-uebersicht-Freisprecheinrichtung-Premium-Plus.html&usg=ALkJrhhFlEM3KpLRuTgHpxQ66DJc6eF0TQ.) Byte 11 is needed though its just a bit out of date.

The RNS510 then also assumes the voice dialogue for PFSE.

adamal; thank you again.

No I dont think there is but there is a byte in the coding for vcds for voice control. It is the second byte (there is a byte 0 so it is byte 1) and should be 00 for active.

Adam

Hi adam, i have questions again. I am a little bit confused about coding. In the link that you posted for the second byte it says "it should be 01-deactive", you said it should be 00-active? For being sure i needed to ask you, which one i have to choose?

Another thing, byte 6, regarding sms, it should be "00- 3-button module active / Write text message possible", right?

It is 00 active on mine and it seems to work. For byte 6, I would set it to 01 as you probably don't have the 3 button module in the roof? I think that's older VWs only.

Ok, i will control mine and if it is set to 01 i will set 00 as yours.

I do not have any control on the roof regarding bluetooth module. I will control it again and if it is set to diffrener i will make it 01 as yours again.

By the way, bytes mean two digit codes respectively regarding the whole coding you sent me, right?

Yes 12 bytes (0 to 11) of 2 digits each.

Adam

It maybe your unit is 3c8 .... a/b/c (not d?).  Only d suffixed units can do the wifi hotspot on the maxidot, but I believe the a/b/c units can do something similar with an app on the phone or something, and hence have the option to set an APN.

If it is a d unit then it may not be fully coded.  I had this problem on mine when I purchased it and had to manually add 0101 to the end of the long coding for the phone module in VCDS before the wifi menu would show up.  I discovered that on a German VCDS website which I translated using google translate.

Adam

The part number on my unit ends in 760A so that would appear to answer the question!

adam, thank you again. I coded the module and sms reading problem solved!

But, i have again a questioj regarding the sms. As you know if the unit reads the sms the sms does not go to phone. There is "copy" option in sms menu but although i choose "copy" it does not send the sms to phone. Do you have any suggestions?

730a it probably is but yes that answers the question!!

Re the texts it is the same for me, very random. Note though you can still access them by looking in SIM messages on the phone and copying to the actual phone from there.

Adam

I look into the sim messages in the phone but there is no message altough maxidot says "message copied to sim"

It won't be there if you deleted it when in the car as effectively you are managing the SIM message area when in the car.

I think the success of the copy function in the car is dependent on both length of message and the phone.

I do not delete the messages. I think i have a problem with the phone; Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Possibly it is not accessing the SIM card messages properly.  Are you looking in "settings" , "manage sim messages"?

In the sms menu i am clicking on the sms, there appears "copy" option, i choose it it says " copying to sim" but on the phone no sim sms.

The sms received becones a sim message automatically. The copy option then in theory should copy it to the phone but it often doesn't. However outside the car go to messages, settings, manage sim messages and it should be there...

Is it the wifi menu you are looking in?

It may need coding, mine did, it wasnt set up for wifi... I had to change the last two digits to 0101 in the long coding.

Adam

Hi Adam

Where do i change the code?

I have  a Elegance superb mkII (2013). I have rSap working, so I receive sms in the car, but I don't see the WIFI setting in maxidot

Please advise

Max

You need access to VCDS and it is done in the long coding for module 77 telephone.

If you haven't got VCDS, there are members around Manchester who will help - check out the map in the VCDS and diagnostics part of the forum.

  • 1 year later...

Hi all I am having a similar issue, having changed from an a to a d...I have tried entering the apn and still no data connecting...we do not have 3g. But the data connection still works on my phone, so should through the Wi-Fi.

Also when I audio stream I do not get the pause play control on screen....

When I press the on screen Bluetooth symbol it does come up, but is silent....

You have to restart it and it plays again, but without onscreen controls....

Is this a coding issue?

It does sound like a coding issue. Byte 7 needs to be 00 and the last two bytes need to be 0101.
