You need access to VCDS and it is done in the long coding for module 77 telephone.

 

If you haven't got VCDS, there are members around Manchester who will help - check out the map in the VCDS and diagnostics part of the forum.

Are lay people able to get their hands on VCDS?

BTW Bluetooth unit is  "3C8 035 730 C".

I have managed without wifi but I would love to get it to work.

You can either buy your own VCDS cable at about £270 or see if a local member will help you out. Couple of good threads to find someone:

A 3C8...C unit won't support WiFi. Only the 3C8...D and 3C8...E versions do I'm afraid

Yes, it's freely available from the manufacturers Ross-Tech or their local agents.

So I guess its not possible, without changing the BT unit

No as langers2k states it is only the 3c8 ... d or e modules that do wifi.
