Yup. All good advice that ^^^^

You want to basically be back where you where before all this, so you'll probably need more than they are currently offering you.

Wonder what yours would have retailed for on a forecourt, 'cus that's how much you're going to require for something virtually the same.

No joy on a small bodyshop quote?

2nd hand door in the same colour would immediately bring the repair cost down substantially if you can find one.

No joy with body shop the person I know is away in France. I have put an ad out on 24/7 spares for a door just waiting for quotes on that.. I really should upload pics but I don't know how to thru my phone.. I've put a lot of time and effort into the car it was a right ****ter when I bought it and I turned it into the beast it is today lol.

I appreciate all the advice and help from everyone..

Whos fault the accident was is neither here nor there. You need to gather as much evidence as possible that to buy a replacement car the same will cost £X, so trawl autotrader looking for simillar age/mileage, print out the adverts. Tell insurance no and send them the evidence you have gathered.

Yes I'm going to try and sit and gather as much info tomorrow at work as I can..

The car has a few mods now does that depreciate the value of the vehicle? Even though I'm on a specialised modified car insurance?

You still got the car btw, and is it still driveable, or has it been taken to a compound?

edit...sorry. Just seen post 7

Car not drivable but is outside my house

edit...sorry. Just seen post 7

If it helps when mine was written off in January they paid out £3000.

That was for an 04 plate on 130,000 miles well looked after, and not including any of my mods

I spoke to them about the mods but they wanted to take 10% deprecation on their value for ever year they'd been fitted.

When I suggested £1000 of mods that had been on for around 8 years they offered me about £150 for the lot.

Instead I bought the car back and sold it/the bits on here

If you want to know how much it cost me to buy the car back drop me a PM

Update

Right got me 2.3k for the car have bought it back for peanuts and I mean peanuts. It's been classed as a cat d. Just sourcing a new rear door now and waiting on a quote back off a friend of a friends bodyshop for the rest of the damage. I couldn't bare to part with the car as we have just had to much fun together and it's like an extra member of the family.

Sounds like the insurance company wanted it taken of the road. some insurance companies have contracts with these bodyshop places ( take it here or else don't bother). Glad that you managed to buy it back and put back on the road.
