Hi all my Diesal Octavia is now 3 weeks old and it's great, but we have developed a vibration rattle around the A pillar / air vent on the passenger side. It is more noticeable when we are on an uneven road surface, not nessarily pot holed. We closed the air vent off and the noise stopped only to return again the next day.

It's driving me bonkers, I don't listen to the radio & like peace and quite in the Car so it's very noticeable.

Any suggestions or help guys will be gratefully recieved. We are taking it into the dealers in a couple of weeks but if any one has experienced this then I could give the dealer a head start when he starts his investigations.

This seems to be quite a common fault, had it on mine, it seems to come from just where the a pillar meets the roof lining, if you pull back the a pillar trim slightly you can see an air bag behind, don't pull too hard! I managed to ease the problem by fiddling around with the trim and stuffing some small pieces of heating pipe insulation behind the trim and the creaking stopped, came back once but just fiddled again and has been ok for months now. I also did notice at the time that the noise was worse on cold winter mornings but eased once the cabin was up to temperature.
