Hi all,my lovely 2009 Octavia 2 has developed a bit of a fault with its indicators. Basically, it seems like a fault with the stalk; it comes on intermittently when i try to indicate and sometimes the wrong side comes on!

Any ideas or experience on this one guys? What do reckon, garage job or could I do it myself (I'm quite handy!)?

A common issue, it is advisable to purchase a new indicator stalk.

 

You might be able to open it up and clean the contacts but most just swap them out due to the low cost of a new stalk.

Fair enough! Easy enough to replace?

Try a search, the indicator stalk also accomodates the cruise control switches (where fitted), which is a common mod so plenty of information on how to remove the stalk.

To replace the stalk you need to remove the steering wheel and airbag so it is worth trying to clean the contacts first.
