Turbo issue?

Featured Replies

Hi- had my major service today,, and the lads at Vw say I'm having turbo issues because I mesntioned my cold start issues, they also say it's abit sluggish, but I'm not seeing and major smoke, and no really really noticeable whining, and still pulls at 2500 revs well, bit slow on acceletarion, they sujested bloke pipe, actuator as a possibly cause? But a blocked pipe to me doesn't sound correct- a nakered actuator I suppose will cause it to be sluggish, with becoming loose and not opening fast or enough I don't know .

But they said they wasn't sure, so any noticeable obvious tells they would have said.

It's in for diagnostic tomoro, taking turbo off ect.

Btw cars on 85,000 full service history.

Loses boost/power.

The revision number is stamped on it, mine was a c and knackered. Swapped to a D and it was like a different car.

G is the latest revision which is a diaphragm one or D is the older piston type. Both get good reviews although more so the G

Unless they take it out I don't think you can tell tbh, it's only when I fitted the forge dv spacer that I found mine was no good

Ahh, make it sluggish mate? Coz that's what they said it was, can't traky comment since only driven mine.

Thinking coilpack for cold starts? Does the DV effect cold starts no?

I wouldn't have thought it'd effect cold starts but if it's losing boost and not making power it'll be sluggish

Coilpack, well it's in at the stealerships for invesergation at the price of £180for 2 hours!.

I'm hoping it's the Divertor, because il fit it myself, and the coils, which also il do myself[emoji19], surely at 85,000 miles F.S.H it can't of killed the Turbo itself!
