Aftermarket wheels!

Featured Replies

I know theres been threads on this but I'm not finding exactly what i want!

Im looking for some new wheels and really Im torn!

Has anyone got a picture of mk1s with 16" BBS splits or similar?

Im also looking at some Borbets - whats the widest people tend to have on fabias? surely the fabia wont take the 9 1/2" ones?

Ideally I think I want the bbs 17s - thats what I think I've been seeing when Im looking for the 16s, but its hard to tell

The bbs 17s seem to cost a fortune and only come in the BMW 5x120 fitment too

Pics and any help would be great ...even if its just saying what you think looks good!! :)

Cheers

cheers bud :)

I've looked through that one yes (although, I'm embarrassed to say that i found it through google, not the forum search! hahaa)

still not a lot about on width though, most people stop at about 8" do they?

Can go 9/9.5 on the rear and 8 on the front. . Its not just width that matters, its offset too.

Youll need to be low to make any bbs style wheel work ;-)

Im really struggling tbh! too much choice! hahaa

I dont want to do something which a lot of people have already done

I fancied bbs and i am low enough to pull them off - but genuine 17s are a fortune and for 16s i think they need to be almost 'bag low' lol

I've been moving away from the idea of dub and vag recently - been thinking about some jap style work or rotas!

Believe me finding something that's not already been done is ny on an impossibility!

I searched for ages and now run bbs rws, whiwhich are probably the least run wheel on fabias, but there's still 2/3 people running em.

I had a set of 17" bbs ry012 17x8 wheels that no1 has ever run on a fabia or many other cars.. they were for sale last week but they have literally just been sold + picked up now.. sorry dude :(

Dont be scared to use adapters from other PCDs and you find some bargains ;)

Your aiming for around et20 lowest at the front with 8j max

And the rears most things are possible with camber/ rolling or pulling of the arches :)

adapters cost a fortune though! lol

And would you change that et recommendation for bigger front brakes?

and hmm ..not wanting to go for camber :P

They look good! im trying to decide if i like the splits at the moment - think i might get some cheap ones to see and then either something totally diff or genuine BBS if i like them

Cheers guys

Adapters dont cost much m8.

Either buy used or theres an engineering company on ebay that will make any size (18mm minimum) prices start from around £40 a pair ;)

et20 is plenty low enough for big brakes.. iv fit all my wheels over 312s but if u mean properly big brakes like porsches/ brembos etc it all depends on the style of the wheels.. u just have to trial them. 312s fit under most 17s without a problem
