Octavia1 brake servo/vacuum problem

Featured Replies

Hi, the problem being that when I depress the pedal I only seem to have servo assist for 1-2 seconds then the pedal goes rock and pushes back up leaving the rest of the braking with no servo assist. After a few seconds off the pedal the assist returns but only for1-2 secs again. It does this like clockwork and is not intermittent. Is the vacuum pump or servo goosed? Have replaced 3 worn vacuum hoses but to no avail. Could anyone nail this one down for me please.

Many thanks

With my foot on the pedal, when starting the engine the pedal DOES NOT travel slowly to the floor.

Cheers

Sounds like a split pipe to the servo or a weak vacuum the vacuum pump

I found mine had split here.  This is the start of the rigid pipe to the brake servo, basically under the n75 valve on the bulkhead.
