EGR blanking plates

Featured Replies

hi all

does anyone have a definitive answer as to whether i will need a map change if i blank off the EGR valve from my turbo?

and also what effect it would have on my engine and how it drives

all comments and opinions appreciated

thanks

Depends if it's an ASZ or a BLT, only you can know the answer to that and you don't appear to telling us!

sorry forgot about that

its an ASZ engine with remap but it was done by a previous owner so no sure where he got it done

Are you fitting an egr delete ?

I've got the ASZ engine, with a remap . I put the 2 blanking plates on mine, I left all the vacuum pipes on aswell. It was ok for a few weeks, but then the eml came on

eventually yes I would like to put a proper delete on but for now I only have the two blanking plates. would a proper EGR delete need a map change?

ok thanks George, good to know. did the car drive or feel any different before or after you eml came on?

If you want the delete pipe, I have one. Yours for £30 posted :) it's been carbon fibre dipped too :)

The car did feel a bit more responsive after fitting them, but I did give the EGR a good clean while it was off, that's what probably made the difference
