Tdi downpipe removal/refitting

Featured Replies

Hi, picking up my tdi octavia tomorrow. (90bhp I believe)

The exhaust has snapped just after the cat. Luckily a friend of mine has a new welder.

now taking the cat and exhaust off will be the easiest way to weld it.

I've looked at cats/downpipes on ebay and they seem to be one piece :(, I'm just worried about the studs on the turbo housing snapping. It happened before on my golf 1.8t. and presume the heat makes them stuck in or brittle.

Has anyone removed the downpipe before, any advice so as not to snap or round the studs?
