Whats it worth ?

Featured Replies

Well as some of you already know (those that follow my track toy project thread) I am in 2 minds with what to do.

I'm getting the urge to swap from fwd to rwd and therefore i'm thinking that I would be far better off breaking my octy than trying to sell it complete.

But I don't know what the parts are really worth (I have an idea for some, but not all).

So looking for a bit of help in pricing stuff up.

  1. Engine & Turbo (standard AUQ with K03s, 109000 miles, good history and it's a very very strong engine & turbo, doesn't use any oil or water)
  2. Cupra R 4bar Fuel pump (done less than 3000 miles from new)
  3. Set of 4 Cupra R fuel injectors (done less than 3000 miles from new)
  4. 3" Toyosports Downpipe/Decat with a Piper Cat Back Exhaust System (twin tail pipes)
  5. Pro Alloy Front Mount Intercooler kit (single pass), with adaptors for either small or large map sensor and I could also include modified crashbar if required (cut the middle out to allow full flow into the cooler)
  6. Red Forge Motorsport TIP
  7. ABD Racing intake manifold with Phenolic intake manifold gasket & bolts
  8. Forge Motorsport Baffled Sump
  9. Cupra R subframe with lower brace, 034Motorsports Solid Subframe bushings, Cupra R wishbones with Powerflex Black Series front Bushes, Powerflex Black Series Solid Rear Bushes, Cupra R Hubs, recent Lemforder ball joints, Cupra R quick rack steering rack with Powerflex Black Series Bush, R32 Front Anti-Rollbar with Powerflex Black Series Bushes
  10. Weitec Hicon GT Coilover's with Adjustable Top Mounts in good working order
  11. Neuspeed 28mm RARB (painted metallic grey, but could do with repainting / powdercoating to make mint)
  12. vRS 5 speed EHA gearbox with Wavetrac LSD fitted (diff done less than 2500 miles), the gearbox has done 90k but was stripped and inspected last July when the Wavetrac was fitted
  13. CM quick shift
  14. 42 Draft Design Shifter Bushings
  15. Verdict Motorsports Shift Bracket Bushings
  16. G60 flywheel & VR6 clutch (clutch done less than 2500 miles)
  17. TT front strut brace modified and painted blue (but paint is flaking in places so could do with a refurb to make mint)
  18. Set of 5 Audi TT 6 spoke Ronal 17" Wheels (Recently refurbed in Kawasaki Green) with 225/45/17 Federal 595 RSR Semi Slicks (1 slightly worn on edge but still legal), 5th wheel has a Yoko A048 fitted
  19. Set of 4 Audi S3 6 spoke Avus 17" Wheels (Satin Black) with 225/45/17 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta Tyres (approx 6-7mm even tread), wheels are presentable but would need refub to be mint (no kerbing)
  20. Cupra R Brembo's with Goodridge hoses, DS3000 pads (2/3 worn) + 2nd set of discs (light surface rust but will clean up easily) and spart set of standard Brembo pads
  21. Black grille with Black badge
  22. Widemouth front bumper with Milotec side vents in silver
  23. Cupra R 225 Steering Wheel (worn in places so could do with a refurb to make mint)

Interested in the s3 avus alloys. Is this something you have a price in mind for?

There have been so many broken on here recently that the last person is still having difficulty selling bits. Unless you have space to store bits for a long time you may make more putting the car back to standard and selling any mods you have. Depends on how long you want to have car parts or a shell lying at the end of the day as its likely to take months to get to the point where you start making money.

edit:

just realised the car is your stripped track car, little chance of getting that back to normal. Will still come down how long you want to hang on to parts though.

Not at the moment, thats what this thread is for, to findout what the parts are realistically worth.

Car is too far gone to go back to standard, it has no interior trim other than the dashboard, original seats gone, original wheels gone, standard intake manifold gone, standard suspension is in a box somewhere in the garage, standard front brakes are gone, standard exhaust, downpipe and cat is gone, original gearbox gone.

I do have the standard steering wheel though :D

yes, realised it was your track car after posting.

Yeh if I do go this route (give in to temptation), I don't want to be sitting on parts forever.

But then I won't be looking to remove every nut and bolt from the car, the above list is the main parts i'd want to sell quickly, the other odds and ends I don't mind holding onto.

If you do split, I could be interested in the LSD...although it would be a shame to break it!

Box easy £900

Lots of money in parts

Get it broke let's see some rwd action ;-)

I agree it would be a shame, but it's the only way to get the money back out of it sadly, and as much as i'd like to, I can't have 2 track toys :(

Need to find somewhere to strip it first, and then store the parts, but before all that, I need to workout what the minimum return is, because if it's too low then I might aswell stick with what I have rather than end up with no track toys at all ;)

Havin a similar thought myself haven't got time or energy to break mine so luckily I've got a lot of the standard parts so can make a few quid on my mods and just trade the standard car in.

I know I won't get to price but mines not a minter anyway so just less hassle than selling privately to many numptys on eBay to go on there.

Good luck with the octy what ever you decide.

I am only saying break it as I would be after a part or two from your list....assuming they are bargains!

Nothing will happen until people give me idea's of the real values of the above parts.

Obviously I have an idea of what I think there worth, but I don't want to commit to breaking the car only to findout that I will get back alot less than I am expecting.

Fair play, there's a fair bit of money sitting there!

Assuming there bargains lol

As a guesstimate probably £3500/£4000 worth of bits just on the list,

Well your thinking along the same line as I am, I was thinking around £4000 - £4500 with a couple of other bits and pieces (rear brakes, clocks, ecu, driveshafts etc etc).

Take 25% off your highest figure IMO

As not all things sell and you will get knocked down

Aim for 3500 more is a bonus

I would be very interested in the front bumper and a few other bits if you do decide to break it up, it is a shame though

Ok having been thinking this over and over and over again.

I have decided that I will be breaking the car, but not until later in the year.

Reason being, I want to do a few more trackdays this year and if I start breaking the car now, there isn't much hope of stripping this, buying something else and getting that ready intime to get out on track again this year.

So everyone thats PM'd me showing interest in parts, I will keep the PM's and contact you when this goes ahead to see if your still interested.

Good call use then break winter ;-)

Yeh I missed out on enough track action last year with various issue's, so would be silly to miss out on some track action this year just because i've got a scratch I need to itch.
