2006 TDI - Stuck map sensor but on car?

Featured Replies

Read a local Briskodian's car today.  Old map sensor.  Actual reading jammed at 2193 in group 11, so advised getting a new one.  BRAND NEW one is doing the same thing!

Where does one start going when the map sensor is OK but the car appears to be reading it wrong?  Could 2193 be "max boost" for a 1.9 TDI (PD105) and it's simply always reading maximum regardless of what its actually doing?

Hey dude do you have VCDS?

Good job I just checked facebook else your comment would have made no sense! :P

the wiring from my boost sensor to the ecu had gone high resistance and was causing problems, the wiring is copper at the boost pressure sensor but is aluminium or aluminium colour at  the ecu  end  the  boost wires are gray/black to pin 62 at ecu and  purple to pin78 at ecu  the other two wires the yellow to pin 38 and the brown to pin 76 are the temp sensor

the wires change guage size when they go through the  connector  situated below the nearside headlight unit (which may have corrosion present, mine did) the gray/black wire is number 8 at that connector the purple wire is number 10

worth a check let us know if it helps :)

I think from memory it's at the front of the engine on a plastic boost pipe.

If you have a side mounted intercooler, they are often bolted into the "roof" of the cooler.

Is this it

Thought I'd seen it there.

It's on the intercooler on the PD130s.

No sorry. The one in the picture is of a PD105.

I was commenting in regards to Jason's comment on them being located on the intercooler.
