Paint 1 Sea Gulls 0

Featured Replies

Morning all, we moved up to the Yorkshire Coast some 6 months ago and are loving it, apart from one thing, sea gull droppings.

Reports I see on Forums, in the press and from neighbours is of it marking paint work badly etc etc

After a few months I got sick of the daily chore of cleaning it off, so now leave it from wash to wash, about once a fourtnight.

It washes straight off and doesn't leave a mark. I wax the car about once every three months with Turtle Wax.

A neighbours new Dacia has marks that won't come out!!

Living near Brighton we get the same thing - as you say, no permanent damage. Seems like good paint.

Worst ever was I had a Mk. 1 Cavalier, bright white. We once parked, just for an evening, under some  trees locally. No idea what they were but the leaves or berries left purple stains all over the white paint that took me months to get off using one of the T Cut range. Nightmare!

I would ditch the Turtle Wax...horrible stuff

Get some decent sealant and and a good wax and then rewax every month...many to choose from

The reason the Dacia has marks that wont come off..

..the droppings have been left on a waxless/sealerless car and it has etched the clearcoat of the paint

Hi Mike, just outside Brid, off the Marton Rd towards Sewerby. Absolutely loving it.
