Red or yellow powerflex dogbone mount bush for my 4x4 1.8t

Featured Replies

Hi not sure which one to go for on my 4x4 1.8t im currently running a red one on my mk4 golf gti 1.8t its very smoth no vibration at all, will a yellow one soften up a bit or will it be a lot stiffer than the red one and vibrate on tickover ? I had a yellow one on my first vrs nearly 8 years ago but don't seem to remember it being to bad .

Have a yellow one on my 4x4 1.8t. Noticeably more noise on tick over. Not tried a red one myself.

Red is the softest and meant for diesel cars primarily.

My vRS had yellow on it when I bought it and it was uber loud vibration even after being on over 4 years, replaced with red and utter bliss!

Yes rover220 I know the red is for a diesel its soft that's why I went for it after hearing reports of vibrations from the yellow one, ive got a feeling my original powerflex dogbone bush years ago may of been the purple colour that was ok, I think I will go with another red one I don't fancy vibrations when waiting at traffic lights .

Got the Superpro dogbone on mine, only small amount of vibration on tickover, not sure if is caused by the dogbone or the THS engine mounts, wouldn't call it intrusive in anyway.

so would you say the superpro one is inbetween the red and yellow proflex for stiffness dose anyone know the claimed stiffness over standard for the different bushes ?
