I am replacing a leaking radiator on my Skoda Fabia 1.4 8 v. Everything has been detached on the old radiator except the cooling fan electrical connection. This seems to be stuck and I have been unable to pry it loose. Not sure how to apply force to what part of the connection. Is there a technique that needs to be applied? Does the connection separate from the top of the electric plug unit or at the base on the fan housing? Thnks, Dave Shop manual says 'remove....' without any other advice.

Have you had any luck with this? I have noticed the smaller fan is stiff to turn and neither of them work when air-con is on. So want to test the fans.

 

Like you I don't want to break the plastic connector.

I had this problem undoing the connectors too, they are fairly easy when you know how providing it's the same as most of the others on the car, you do this.

 

Where the wires go into the plug - on the side you will see a small slot, insert a small screw driver and pull the piece of plastic towards the wires, and then pull the plug to slide off.

 

It actually works on a rocker principle, by forcing the small piece of plastic, rocks the locking piece inside and releases.

 

Make sure it's fully pushed home when re-fitting.
