Fabia VRS OSR Door Deadlocked

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Looking for a bit of assistance as at a loss.

As described the rear drivers door on my Fabia VRS is deadlocked, and im having issues finding part numbers/costs.

The garage that im using have asked me to assist in finding the part needed, they have been sucessful in removing door card, whist door locked.

Does anyone know the part number for the door lock mechanism? or viable alternatives that will work with the car?

Cheers

Matt

It's probably a broken electrical wire inside the flexible trunking between the 'B' post and the door, so you might not need a door lock assembly.

DB.

It's quite common on the front doors but never changed / repaired the wiring harness on a rear door. I have however replaced a few rear central locking motors.

I believe the common fault is the micro switch on them but never looked Into it just replaced them.

My motor jammed on dead lock! Remove seat squab and back then door card will have just enough space to come off

Afraid I don't know the part number, but from what a mechanic told me; vw door locks break quite often and the plastic casing has to be smashed open to unlock the door. I got one from a scrapyard and stripped the door down myself and left the rest to a mechanic

There's a cog you can turn to unlock if you cut in the right place

you can get the lock mechanisms off ebay for 50 quid ish.

The only problem with them I have encountered is that the lock button inside the car doesn't work correctly it will lock the new lock far a second and it will then unlock again and if you double press the fob to lock the car it will unlock the replacement lock.

I think it may be a VCDS thing so now I have replaced all 4 Im looking for a VCDS owning brisky member to take a look :)
