ok, so iv had my fabia for about 9 months now, and iv lowered it on JOM's.

after being humiliated by a fat 12yo shouting "not low enough" at a meet. im on the hunt for more lows.

my work so far:

coilovers wound all the way down with helpers out,

shorter drop links,

lower profile tyres,

adjsters removed from the back.

my questions are:

would shorter bump stops help?

even shorter drop links?

custom springs?

help!

Just thought i would re post the original question as the thread seems to have gone the way of all Briskoda threads where lots of unwanted or needed opinions are given when advice was asked for. Not advice asking should he lower his car or not. But advice about HOW to lower his car more.

I dont remember reading "what do people think about low cars" in the title or the OPs original post :| :D lol at most of the unhelpful and predictable replys :D!

I did reply contsructively!

Air or bust if you want proper lows. Everything else is a waste of time and money if you're looking to be as low as can be.

My personal opinion on it though is that unless you're willing to spend big money, you can't be low without ruining your car.

Wasn't aimed at you ;)

Looks low enough to me mate

If you carry a fat bird or two in the back you'll be lower.

I used to run crazy low with my old Ibiza FR, looked great but speed bumps meant 1st gear...

Now I think one or two fingers (ooh err) is plenty gap. Mine is soon to go from five finger Skoda ride height to sports suspension lows- 25/30mm.

I don't quite understand why folk spend so much money on cars that, realistically, aren't ever going to compete with something standard that they could of bought with the money they spent modifying.

Ah well , each to their own I suppose.

And once the focal point begins to aim at improving 'how fast is it 0-60'... Stop fannying about and get yourself a 600cc sports bike for a damn sight less!

This too is how I feel after reading the replies of the thread.

I agree Phil, as I've said before, why would anyone but a dumb kid take the performance variant

of a car and make it slower due to loss of handling dynamics and almost undriveable on uk roads.

Mind you have you seen some of the clothes and haircuts this lot go around with.

Maybe not in this case for once as the op has a 1.4, but they usually ruin vRS models.

My favourite are the stupid jeans with the little ankle cuffs (where's the window licker smiley)

and the half lobotomy part shaved haircut. Add a clown car scraping the floor and you have the

complete picture. (oh and a baseball cap of course.... Standard)

IMO of course.

Err.....Vanilla Ice was sporting that look and that was WAAAAAAY back in 1991....it wasn't cool then either :D

Also once you start plumbing the sorry depths of comparing suspension according to whether you can fist or finger it, I'm not sure how much "lower" you can get (no pun intentional) than that :peek:

as it stands right now ::

Nothing wrong with admiring your metal. Especially if you've just spent hours 'cleaning' it

Infact, nearly every time I get out mine I have to look back at it. Kind of like when a nice female walks past, you just can't help it
