Hi all,

 

I have a Mk1 Fabia VRS with a stage 1 remap and cone filter, however still have the standard exhaust. I am looking to get a nicer sound from the car, don't want it silly loud but a reasonable difference from standard. I miss the noise I used to get from my Leon Cupra R and although I know I cannot replicate a turbo petrol engine sound there certainly must be an improvement.

 

So I have set some options above, any other suggestions feel free to add them!

 

Car will be in the garage next week and is a good opportunity for me to get this done at the same time.

The exhaust system consists of cat and back box.

Id go for a full system to be made up with decat and a sporty back box. If you get a custom made stainless system id reconmend powerflow. Good service. Good quality and good value. Pluss you can choose your tip

btw you will need a friendly mot tester for the cat. Althoguh you can get a fake cat shell welded on

But for your car id go for decat standard exhaust and a sporty back box with tail pipe of your choice

None of the above. De cat, 1 silencer and tip(s) of your choice IMO.

I ran with nearly all those combos and have found a that a decat with smallest backbox the best for day to day driving. Nice bit of noise when opeining the throttle but still quite when pottering.

I currently run with a removable back box, basically I can switch between straight pipe and back box depending on my mood lol.

 

For all out hooliganism you can beat a straight pipe from the turbo lol. True sound can never be caught by videos but it gives you the idea

 

 

Mine had standard back box and a decat. It whistled and made a slight rumble from outside, inside it sounded standard. 

 

heard one that was decat with a small box welded in the mid pipe and that sounded nice.

 

Straight pipes on standard turbos sound like farts imo.
