The octy's going

Featured Replies

My octy goes this week and im now the proud owner of a range rover vogue!, bit of a change but ive always wanted one.

I will still be lurking as this is one of the best car forums ive ever been on, a wealth of knowledge and advice, and friendly keep up the good work.

Well done, good choice, a real 4x4!!!!   .

I bought (a long time ago) one of the first 4 door R/rovers (x plate) and ran it for about 22 years. It had roly - poly suspension (coils +springs).

I renewed all the suspension myself and replaced all the rubber/metal sus' bushes with polyurethane ones that helped to stiffen it up.

Changed front and rear diffs/ both propshafts, and finally got a new 3.9 V8 / LT 77 5 speed gearbox transplanted with a Eidelbrock 650cfm jetted for the engine. (rebadged webber down draft). It was fun to sail past Shoguns etc and raised a few eyebrows

Sorry im rambling lol, I still miss it.

What colour is yours ?

Before I fitted Vogue alloys............

I do mate!

Its on 91000 miles and ive been informed the gearboxs can implode about 100,000, ive had conflicting reports the gearbox can/cant be serviced, i would like to get it serviced before anything goes wrong.

Is it possible??

Very nice tidy one :p ,

Now join a local off-road owners club and really have some fun.

I joined the Lee Valley 4x4 owners club. The only prob I ever had was got stuck in a mud wallow upto the

hubs, but eventually, by going backwards and forwards in low ratio got out. Only downside it took 2 hours to clean lol.

If it's the same box as the X5 then the fluid can be drained and the filter in the G'box sump replaced.
