Pads & Discs

Featured Replies

Just wondering what pads & discs to get at a reasonable price?

Front on a 2006 octavia vrs 2.0t

I replaced mine with Brembos from here.

I've also used EBC Green Stuff pads before but they're a bit more pricey

Be careful too. Some websites will tell you that you want a 288mm disk, but you'll probably want the 312mm ones. I was caught out once with my Leon FR!

Yes - be careful on the actual disc diameters before purchasing.

Sometimes best to measure up, rather than trust part guides and trade parts suppliers.

EBC pads are a good product/buy - opted for these myself; not done discs yet.

...or even Skoda themselves!!

I was given a size of 270mm rear disc, when in actual fact..They are 280mm

I told Skoda SCS and they told me that what it says on the Computer!!

When I said that the computer is wrong, they said it was not

When I told them that 280mm discs were fitted to my car, they told me that I was mistaken!!

I had the disc off the car at this point and told them they were wrong again!! At this they backed down and apologised.

I will mention it to my superiors he said!!

Unbelievable..... that's shocking!

Is the 312mm front and the 280mm rear disc's the same for the whole of the mk11 production. Does it make any odd's if it's a petrol or diesel vrs.

Pass.....I know that 312mm for the front disc is correct...but after my experiences, not sure on your rear

Ring Skoda CS and they will tell you....If they say "270mm", dispute it....That's definitely NOT correct

I think Pagid are the OEM ones but might be wrong.

No...Bosch are OEM

I fitted Pagid discs & pads to mine from eurocarparts, they have been on a year now & are fine with no problems.

You should be alright with 286 rear discs on the prefacelift (or at least early to middling) it seems around facelift time they started peeing about with the sizes. I ordered 286mm for my 2007 VRS and they were correct size.

As said front are no issue,it's 312mm.

Thanks for replies, went with a Pagid from europarts. They've currently got 30% discount all on serviceable parts.

£104 discs and pads

Disc size is a big issue. If ordering on ebc then pre fl derv owners need to buy petrol discs as ebc is wrong and even they admit its wrong.

Ive got 312 and 286 but most people will try to sell you 280 or 282 for the rear.

This is a known problem and skoda uk couldnt care less

+1 I did the same. Thought they were slightly better than OEM.

Personally I'd go for brembo performance discs and pads (hp2000). Green stuff is not a performance material, despite the claims. Avoid it.

I had Green Stuff pads on my last car

They performed much better and with much less dust

They don't pretend to be a performance pad, but they are much better IMO
