Dash cam on PCP yeti

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone had had any issues with the above.

Definitely interested in fitting them as, having been the middle car in a 3 vehicle shunt, I would love to be able to have the footage on hand if any future issues come up (god forbid).

Got the Yeti under a PCP deal so I am unsure as to whether altering the wiring to provide a feed for front and rear dashcams would be an issue when it comes to returning the car at the end of the deal period.

Don't want to go down the route of altering the wiring to find it becomes a problem later on.

You don't cut or permanently alter any wiring with a fuse tap adaptor. The only thing I do when fitting them that is not quickly reversible is drilling a hole for a switch to set between ignition and always on feeds. You wont have any problems with a fuse tap, tucking the wiring around the edge and a suction mount.

Had one in my Yeti, very easy to fit. I have just fitted one to my Qashqai, using a piggy back fuse. I have put a link on the QQ forum on how I did it. On the Yeti it is much easier as the fuse box is situated in the plastic cover between the right and side of the dashboard and the door. Very easy fit.

Huskoda, how hard is it to have a switch that does ignition and always on? I'm due to assemble my dash cam setup on Wednesday using a piggyback fuse holder. Because the Yeti's 12v sockets are always on. Could really do with a simple switch to leave them powered when hard wired just in case i have another break in.... From Leeds? Which part?

TBH - why would you hand the car back at the end of the PCP deal? The cost to buy will be so much lower than current market value that you'd be silly to hand the car back - you would be much better to buy it then immediately sell it privately.

That's what we have planned for when ours gets to the end. Our buy price will be £11.5k - it should be worth at least £3-5k more than that.
