Bit of a strange occurrence with the vRS on Sunday.. I was on the M25 and wanted to stick the cruse control on. As I turned the system on, an amber warning light showed on the dash board and the cruse would not activate. 

 

The symbol was the cruse control symbol with an exclamation mark next to it. Later in the day, I tried it again and it worked perfectly.................. :wonder:  Any suggestion, advice etc........

This is a VERY common fault. It will keep happening periodically and more regularly over a few months and then it will not work at all.  Skoda change the stalk for you but don't generally keep them in stock. The job takes a few hours.

 

My advice is book it in and ask them to order a new stalk in advance otherwise you'll need two trips to the dealer.  I guess that's ok if you like their coffee and biscuits.

I've yet to find a main dealer who will just order parts for warranty work from the say of the owner over the phone without even seeing the car......

Mine now does for this.

I'll get it booked in then. It's also got a rattle from the sun roof or roof blind, so I'll look to loose the car for a day or 2.....

Richie, does yours have the pano roof?

I get a rattle from that area too but seem to be unable to find the exact source. Dealer 'can't fault' it.
