Age appropriate cars

Featured Replies

What amazes me is how long some people have the same car...

Maybe I just buy the wrong ones to begin with, but my longest time (by some margin) is 2 1/2 years, shortest 8months I think, its a fairly close call between 3 different cars for the shortest.

Between 22-29 I've had, in order:

MK3 Fiesta 1.1 - scraped...rot

Rover 214 (Mk2) - scraped...Pas failed

Peugeot 106 1.1 - written off

Rover 620 - written off

MK3 fiesta 1.1 - scraped...rust

Suzika Swift 1.0 - sold at 90000 miles, still on the road

Mk4 Golf 1.6 - scraped...gearbox failed

Renault Megane Classic 1.6e Saloon - scraped...chassis rotted through!

Mk3 Golf 16v - sold at 193000 miles, still going strong!

Mk2 Octavia Estate - current

Next I want a Ph1 106 and put an K04'd AGU 1.8t with 4mo running gear in :D just need a nice sized garage and a few spare £s!

Lets see. I no particular order.

After 13 years and around 22 cars and 4 bikes I can't really be bothered to type them all out. Longest time I've owned a car is 2 years, shortest is 21 days, have had another couple for less than a month each as well

17 mk3 ford feista 1.3

17-18 phase 1 Peugeot 306 1.6

18-19 phase 3 Peugeot 306 1.8

19-24 skoda fabia vRS

And when I turn 25 ill be leaving Skoda and buying my self a 2009 Mercedes C class....320 cdi of course ;)

think MGB

The fastest thing in these cars is the fuel gauge going down.  Friend had MGB-GT in the seventies and it always felt fast because you b*m was almost scraping the ground but o-60 in 11.1secs?

At 19 I had a 1972 Ford Escort Mk1 1300, (but modified a bit)

At 58 I have a 1974 Ford Escort Mk1, (in the process of being modified a bit)

I suspect I haven't grown up technically. (I also have a 1972 Rover V8 for driving in straight(ish) lines)

At 18 I had a Mk1 Escort Sport.

I sold that and whilst still 18 bought a Rover 3500 V8 (that made for an interesting phone call to the insurance brokers!)
