my  diesels doesn't like pulling away in 2nd it stalls, but if you put your foot the clutch it starts again.....

I don't use Eco mode or sport mode.. I find its  quick and pull away easy in 4 or 5 gear..

I never use supermarket fuel.. i mostly fill up at Shell ...

I'm off down the to Cornwall tomorrow i see what i can get on a long run on mpg

And see how many vRS I can spot in the next 2 weeks

If you drive the 2.0 150 aggressively its pretty quick for what it is, not alot of go below 1500 rpm but thats pretty typical as even the best 4 cylinder CR diesels are pretty laggy at low rpm; also there has been a bit of a low end torque trade-off in order to allow a broad spread of torque throughout the rev range. Once spun up though is v good and the power delivery is v even. Its definitely a better engine than the old 170 CR.

As per the dyno graph its worth noting if you're never revving it to 3.5k rpm you're not extracting all 150ps from it. They do also suffer from a bit of step-off lag (when backing off the accelerator at speed the recirc valve lets off boost pressure, some of that has to rebuild upon acceleration contributing to a lack of instant go....basically soft throttle response). E-chargers will eventually all but eradicate this. I'd also recommend driving it with normal rather than sport throttle settings as there is absolutely no throttle limitation and the modulation is alot better.
