Will this cable work on my car?

Featured Replies

Don't worry its a genuine one :)

All I want to do is check for fault's, reset codes if needed and have a dabble with VCDS to enable things on my car.

I have a Mk2 Octavia VRS which is a 2009 facelift version and the Maxidot screen in the dials (If that makes a difference)

I found the link whilst doing a search on Google, but one person said that it doesn't enable him to reset faults, but others said it should do.

Thanks

You can get the full hex can version from Nigel : [email protected] who is a registered ross tech reseller. I think I paid £250. This will let you do everything.

Can't see why someone says it wouldn't let you reset fault codes: obviously not using VCDS properly. You have to reset the fault codes one at a time, the "reset all" is for VCDS Pro.

Micro-CAN will work fine with your MKII. You'd only need HEX for looking at older cars (not based on Golf MKV technology)

If you buy it direct from Ross tech HMRC will slap VAT etc on it and then it will end up cost about £200 as it would to buy from a UK Ross tech dealer such as Gendan.
