washers 1.9 sdi

Featured Replies

Hi, I've got a 2003 1.9 SDI and have noticed that the windscreen washers do pump water but only comes up the windscreen a bit and nothing seems to come out of the rear one. Any suggestioins , I'm keen to dig things as I don't want to put any moneyinto the car, just run it till it dies/fails too badly cost wise (so much so I haven't even considered a timing belt change). I got it real cheap, 550 with 8mo MOT, its a bit rough but will hopefully do

Do a search, pipes pop off all the time.

Couldn't see anything that has obviously popped off. The washers stopped working altogether today, there seems to still be the motor noise but no screen wash. Any guides or ideas anyone?

Definitely sounds like a pipe has popped off. Fill the wash up, hold the lever down for a while, move the car forward and look for lots of water on the floor!

There are four connections where the pipes can detatch. At the pump, at the bulkhead in the engine bay, inside the car behind the NSR wheelarch trim, and at the rear washer nozzle inside the tailgate.

Thanks for the replies, Im not sure if the actual washer bottle is leaking or not, doesn't look like there is any in it and I filled it up a few days ago, I'll need to have as dig around. Also, I have found the latter two pics but is there any zoomed out ones of the first two, I don't know my way around an engine that well and there doesn't seem to be any connectors liem the ones in the picture from my initial looks.

Thanks
