just fitted a G60/VR6 flywheel/clutch upgrade to my octavia, 

 

 heres the kit from ebay

bought a mid rise lift last year, got it second hand needing a repair to the pump motor, best buy ive made for ages!!!

right, first up, pull the battery and  airbox  out..

next pull the starter

remove the shift linkage and clutch slave cylinder, remove 2 upper bellhousing bolts

remove drive shafts

remove the lower engine support

remove 3 lower bellhousing bolts

remove that bolt to the lower right of the drive cup

support the engine from above,  i made this thingy 12 years ago to get me out of a hole and if used it a bunch of times since, not pretty but it works.. :)

remove 3 bolts from left hand engine mount

*after* you remove these 2

and dont forget the speedo sensor connection

a bit of swearing manhandling and cut hand and there it is

so with the box out it was time to remove the clutch and flywheel

was all going well till i realised that i had received the wrong bolt to fit the clutch to the flywheel, got the posted out to me 3 days later, but i work late so was the following weekend to get it all finished..

so in the panic to get the car back out i forgot to take any more pictures!!! 

 

but as all the good manuals say, "refitting is reverse of removal"

only got 30 miles up so far but all seems good.... clutch feels lighter, and its not slippin any more... job jobbed!!!

not sure, i have it a year... was 120k on it then 143k on it now... but i think the box has been replaced as its covered it yellow crayon!!!  so may have been changed then.. 

I could do with a lift. Last time I changed an Octavia clutch I ended up in hospital when the gear box fell on my finger :D

yellaVRS i also have the same setup do u notice vibration at 4k rpms as i do

no vibration that i noticed yet..     but ive only got 200 miles on it ....   letting it bed in before i give it a hammering....  but seems fine so far...

tore a lump out of my thumb while i was refitting it... :D     there are a lot of sharp edges on them g/boxes...
