Iron fall out? And snowfoam

Featured Replies

Today i bought a snowfoam attachment for my karcher and while at B&Q picked up some demon snowfoam aswell to test it out.

The test subject was my sisters 18 month old white hyundai which has been washed about 3 times since shes had it ( scruffy biatch) i noticed the roof and bonnet are peppered with rusty looking spots

Is this iron fall out? My mums zafira also has something similiar on the roof too, the picture was taken after the wash too, zafira is silver.

Snowfoam, the demon shine was ok but it ran off the car within a minute and didnt foam aswell as you see on here. Any recommendations for a karcher?

And one more thing, a months ago i bought wonder wheels hot wheels from halfords for £10 after i saw someone on here talking about it. B&Q sell it for £5.38 and morrisons for £4. I think this is where "halfrauds" comes from lol

almost certainly iron fall out yes

So spraying it with some iron-x might remove it?

Without knowing exactly what sort of lance you bought it's difficult to say if the thin snowfoam is because of the snowfoam itself, tne lance or what setting you have the lance on.

not knowing how you've used it here's what I do with my newly bought lance from Autobrite together with some Magifoam as part of a DW group buy.

Put 1" of foam in the bottle, then fill up bottle with warm water. Set the mixing knob on the top of the lance as far as it will go to inject as much air as possible. Result is a nice thick foam.

I personally have 3 different snowfoams at the moment! Best listed last

ultimate snowfoam. Cheapest of the 3 and not bad stuff. Gives quite a good thick foam. If you google it there's a demo vid on their site you can compare what you get with yours

valetpro ph neutral. 2nd best option (IMO) thicker foam than ultimate. It smells nice too. If I had a criticism of it it seems to dwell for ages on your drive afterwards.

Best one Autobrite Magifoam. More expensive than the others but gives the thickest foam, plus it doesn't seem to dwell on the drive as long as the valetpro and seems to give the same thickness foam for less. Only used about 1/2 of the concentrate compared to the other 2.

if you let the guys know which lance you got they may be able to help diagnose where you problems may be, though I've heard (but have no personal experience of demon shine) the snowfoam you got isn't as good as the real deal.

cheers

So spraying it with some iron-x might remove it?

irox x should neutralise what's there but it won't repair any damage that's already been done to the topcoat, so it may end up with pit marks which would then need polishing? Assuming it's not already gone through to the basecoat underneath

good luck

Its more than likely done little damage.

It will easily polish afterwards anyway

Triple post on my phone lol. God knows what happened

I think you maybe have 2 problems mate. If you look at the autobrite lance abo e the knob on the top controls the amount of air that gets mixed with the foam. It's the air that makes it go thick. Looking at your lance it looks similar to the one I had with my nilfisk washer and that gives thin foam too because its just a normal sprayer, I.e. there's no air intake.

If you've still got the box you could take it back to b&q. There's various group buys on detailing world for the autobrite lance and you can get it with a karcher fitting. Mine was delivered the next day. But if you do go for it get the magifoam, not the purple superfoam

I recon if you get the autobrite lance even the magifoam will come out thicker....

The top photo in the link above is how the magifoam looks when used with their lance...... I do like spending money on car detailing products

Yeah the pictures in the link are what i wanted to happen when i pressed the trigger. It sort of did but it just ran off the car like water after a minute.
