What is the difference between a mini dv camcorder and a camcorder dvd?

I take it dvd recorders use blank dvdr?

Can anyone reccomend a good one?

Basically miniDV uses a tape and DVD uses a DVD.

I got a JVC MiniDV for a cheap price from Pixmania. It came from France so the manual was in French so I just downloaded it in English from the JVC website.

also got a JVC mini DV camera, like it. will be bringing it along on sunday if you want a play. i'll also bring my laptop so you can see how they intergrate if you want :)

the DVD cameras use mini DVD-r or rw

How much should I pay for a good dvd camcorder? Ive got a

I wouldn't bother with a DVD camcorder. I'm sure they are great but camcorders get knocked about and DVD recorders aren't keen on that. Mini DV is the way to go.

I got a JVC mini DV camera with spare battery & tapes for

I wouldn't go with miniDVD either. It's great for immediate plug and playability with modern DVD players, and it's instant access, but it's a newer format and it doesn't integrate so well with PCs, unlike DV which has been around for a few years.

DV is also cheaper due to the availability and time it's been around.

From a technical point of view, it's also higher quality ;)

Cheap DVD recorder if it helps you? HERE

i would buy a sony, ive got one for my wedding and its really amazing quality and easy to use, you can get a good one for about

I'd second the Sony. I did loads of research before I bought mine and found the other makes didn't feel as good to hold or operate, or as good quality. Would personally go for Mini-DV and buy yourself a DVD recorder for you PC. You can then do editing on the PC and burn DVDs yourself. :D
