The Big 3

Featured Replies

Trying to do the big 3 upgrade before I put some decent audio in my car but I can't find the ground strap (Engine to Chassis).  Any ideas where I can find it?

Anyone?

Not sure on the Fabia but on my Golf it runs from the Gearbox to the Chassis leg then up to the Battery so I would imagine it may be similar, the Fabia has an Earth strap that goes from the Battery to the Suspension Turret so it's got to be somewhere near. Have a good poke around you may have to take the Battery and or the Airbox out to get access.

I also remember someone saying that there are Earth points behind the n/s Arch liner so unless someone gives you a definitive answer chap, I would look there.

Good luck I wouldn't mind knowing whether it's worth the hassle so post back up if your successful.

It's pretty obvious if you remove the battery box/tray. It has about 3 or 4 different earths around the passenger side wheel arch and engine bay.

well if there are 3 or 4 there it doesn't sound as though it's worth the hassle of upgrading so think I'll leave it!  Changed battery to an S5 and done the other 2 of the big 3 and it's stopped the power steering issues I was having :)
