Bushes

Featured Replies

Morning guys. Having recently fitted coilovers and having the car MOT it's been noted that the OE console bushes are perishing, NSF in particular.

I'm weighing up the options available, but am unsure which combination will be suitable for me.

Don't want to use any OE bushings, and am planning to do the front and rear control arm bushes as a fit and forget.

Anyone know the size of the front control arm bush on a mk2 pfl tfsi vrs? As according to power flex there are three.

Has anyone on here fitted poly bushes to OE consoles? Any feedback would be wholy appreciated.

Dale

Also. Does anyone know which engine mount insert I should be using?

If you're wanting to go the powerflex route, doesn't this page give the information you need?

http://www.powerflex.co.uk/road-series/products/Octavia+Mk2+1Z+%282004-%29-2635/1.html

I don't see where you are getting 3 potential bushes as options - don't you just need diagram reference 1 and 2 from the above page for the front control arm front and rear bushes?

With regards the engine mount insert, your best bet is to look under the car as per the pictures on the above linked page.

OE solid bushings as replacements are sound as a pound and cost a few quid

There are three different sizes listed on ebay for the front control arm bush.

Have you used power flex bushes in OE console?

No I haven't used the powerflex bushes, I decided to replace with solid OE bushes when mine perished and like what TsvRS said above, I haven't had any issues with them.

Also to clarify, my Octavia isn't a vRS but the wishbones and bushes are the same.

Just press in the Seat Ibiza Cupra R[previous generation] solid bushes and you're set. This is what I've done.Big difference for the better. The other route to go would be the Audi TTRS route, which is much more difficult to source.

Audi s3 console bushes are seemingly ok and a bit stiffer or why not go for an anti lift kit (consoule bush pressed into housing) and just poly bush the front bush on the wishbone. Sorry I can't remember the size for it.

Ok so the s3 bush is a solid item like the tt? And is an ibiza not an entirely different chassis?

The S3 bush is not perfectly solid. It's got fewer slots than the oem bush. The Ibiza Cupra R bush fits just fine.Have a look at the following link.If I'm breaking any forum rules I kindly ask the administrators to delete.
