Biggg starting issue

Featured Replies

If mention before about cold starts, now for the first time it has just decided to wind over but not fire up, so I stopped winding it over, tried again and it started after a bit!? Is that spark or fuel :S

I had started the car early this morning I did a 5 minute journey, left for 3 hours or so,came back and like iv said just wound over like it would normally but not starting

Sounds flooded. Worn plugs will be far more susceptible to flooding so change the plugs first.

Full service Inc plugs under 500 mile ago mate.

Can the cam follower cause this? Will order it with Coil pack?

I'm not sure if it's ever been changed

My old car would do this and was unhappy after using on a short journey. RAC man told me the auto choke was confused after a short journey and to start it as if it was flooded. So foot to the floor and keep cranking. Seemed to work for me.

Full service history.

Compelety standard

Just had major service

Needed New divertor valve which has been replaced.

Camshaft position sensor is my bet.

Right ok. Once the car is started how does it run?

Runs fine once started

Could it be crankshaft sensor?

Crank or cam sensor are possibilities that I would go for.

Ok get a fault scan on it, this will be an intermittent sensor issue
