I've been on the forum a while now and thought it was a bout time that I put up a thread about what will hopefully be my long term project. I would love to hear any compliments or criticism of my work so far so please don't be afraid to comment. I've had the car about 3 months. These are a few pics of what I started with.post-86013-0-55890000-1404669122_thumb.jpgpost-86013-0-71333300-1404669148_thumb.jpgpost-86013-0-43273200-1404669164_thumb.jpg

The first modification carried out after having a good look round the forum was a Rear anti roll bar. Nice easy job and made a massive difference to the handling no more under steer on roundabouts post-86013-0-19925600-1404673952_thumb.jpgpost-86013-0-29920200-1404673984_thumb.jpgpost-86013-0-09425800-1404674021_thumb.jpg

Found this a few days after buying the car. post-86013-0-00897100-1404754519_thumb.jpg After seeing a few people on here had changed there badges for the new type I ordered a set as well. I think they look a lot better than the old typepost-86013-0-28657700-1404754683_thumb.jpgpost-86013-0-93381300-1404754784_thumb.jpgpost-86013-0-46674300-1404754823_thumb.jpg

After a rather expensive call to Awsome gti and a couple of weeks wait my Evoms intake and Milltek cat back and H&R 55mm cup kit arrived. A week or so later it's all fitted. I'm very happy with the final result post-86013-0-36495300-1405089400_thumb.jpgpost-86013-0-59859400-1405089464_thumb.jpg I was pleasantly surprised with the exhaust note from the non res system. It's not too loud and doesn't appear to drone too much at normal road speeds. post-86013-0-30714800-1405090170_thumb.jpg here's a before and an after photo of the 55mm cup kit post-86013-0-10406500-1405090263_thumb.jpg

Good start so far - the CC'd grille surround makes a huge difference. Chrome is just awful.

I want a photo shoot in that garage

I agree they should have been done from factory.

I'd wish I could but it's a big no no at work but I'll see what I can do.

Asif you found that grill on eBay! Been looking for ages

The guy I got it from had both FL and pre FL grills I think he may be doing more of them might be worth keeping an eye out now.

Haha, I'm only joking mate. I'm ex-3PWRR, so know I wouldn't get anywhere near it without proper clearance ;)

Got home today and this was waiting for me :-) image_zpsab860a71.jpg

image_zpsfaa28583.jpg my latest buy from awesome

what is it :D

love this colour, really been fancying a mk2 lately

High flow DV relocation kit and throttle body hose.

Yeah I love it looks really good after a good detail. To be honest the mk2 wasn't on the list of cars I was looking at to replace my last car. But having already owned a mk1 I new how good the skoda brand was. I love the mk2 it's the most practical and fun car I've owned and more than fast enough to keep me entertained after getting rid of my bike.

Liking the progress, keep it coming

Just a small update. Ordered some front led sidelight and number plate bulbs and a 6000k HID kit. Just a few pics I've taken bit rubbish because it's at night but you get the idea.

Did you get the error free hid kit, I've got on here from my old Mk5 golf and a4 but not fitted after reading about it supposedly destroying the wiper motor?

  • Author

No after doing some research on here think I found that the none error free ones were the ones to go for. They did bring up a fault but after a bit of messing about on VCDS I managed to get the warning light to go out. Had them in a few months now and no problems so far.

After being sent home from work early due to a power cut I managed to get the DV fitted not a particularly nice job laid on your back but after a few hour I finally got it done. Got a few picks of the blanking plate and oem valve. b482d46f51bb05200a01a209de0f95f8_zpsb00b sorry about the quality of the pics but it was a little hard to get my phone in.

cef7e0ffab925bb3db932d7a25bcead2_zps298c The DV port.

5ef3ff9b71297aa156142764334882c0_zps4f76 the blanking plate that replaces the oem valve.

6bc1d89242fb15014efc6d957ee3da8d_zpsb1c7 The finished article including forge throttle body hose.

Also a little video I took to see what it sounded like

These are the sort of mods I will be doing to mine!

You got any links to the bulbs you used for side lights and number plate.

Also that intake looks mint!

Hot a link for that too?

  • Author

Got the intake from Awesome gti along with most of the other stuff. The bulbs just came off eBay. Just order the error free ones.

That dv doesn't sound as loud as my forge spacer tbh, any benefits to make it worth the £200 you think?

No it's quite a discreet sound which I'm glad about. I didn't want it to sound too out of character for the car. As for the benefits I don't really think there are any. The method behind what appears to be madness is I'm planning on having the car remapped soon and after reading about the old type diverted valve leaking boost after a remap I decided to change mine. I'm also thinking about doing a ko4 conversion in the future and seen as the DV has to be relocated I decided to do it all in one go and save having to buy another DV in the future. Plus I think it looks good next to the Evoms

Well had a couple of hours to spare over the weekend and decided that the rear light clusters needed some attention. So armed with a can of tinting spray, masking tape and a role of paper. I decided to do this. 7D6EDD8E-C5B4-4861-8314-4AA319D5815A_zps

It doesn't look much but I think it makes quite a difference.

That's quite nice!

When you were fitting you dv did you manage to do it from underneath or on top?

Reason I ask is I have a blow off vavle to fit and I am going to try and fit it myself....

How much was the silcone hose you have fitted too?

Would love a blue one like that :)

Underneath was the only way I could get to it comfortably and a little tip get it jacked up as high as you can or better still get it over a pit or on a ramp.

As for the hose http://www.awesomegti.com/car/skoda/octavia2/forge-silicone-throttle-body-hose-for-2-ltre-fsit. Or you can get a set that comes with the intercooler pipes too http://www.awesomegti.com/car/skoda/octavia2/forge-turbo-hose-kit-for-2-0-fsit. Hope this helps.
