Featured Replies

Just picked up a bargain shelving unit from costco £24

Perfect for the detailing equipment.

Once I've set it up in the garage ill post another pic completed.

Just thought I'd bring it to your attention guys as it's a steal at that price.

I did actually leave without any :) I still keep wanting to try out different ones.

As for the shelving unit, it really is a bargain at that price. Plus it should help tidy the garage up.

Bargain!!

Out of interest where is this Costco place

I've heard of one in Leeds but that's not that accessible to me?

How do you get a discount card?

Yes it is in leeds Chris, not far out of the city centre behind crown point retail park.

You have to pay for the card. It's not a discount card it's a membership card. But you can get an executive card where you can save 2% on most items.

It could be a train journey then?

Easy walk from the station at both ends

Some of those yellow Eurow MF Cloths are on the shopping list

I go quite a lot Chris, I'll pick you up next time I go. Alternatively I will pick some MF cloths up for you.

Ps it's an easy drive to get there and ample parking

I might just take you up on that offer Carl

Thanks mate

Here's their store locations:

By the way, has anyone else got a pack of those white terry towels? Are they any good? I already bought my pack but just wanted opinions.

I looked at them today but I couldn't Quite think of what I could use them for.

I used to prefer Pampers!!

Btw - couple of points - Costco don't do the Eurow MF anymore. They now do an alternative own brand called Kirkland.

Not bad; but not as good as the Eurow MF - IMO. They are a little more orange than yellow - easily identifiable.

Also - online pricing including delivery is still a bargain....

Happy to help!  :sun:

I would appreciate a lift down there next time anyone goes

I'm not sure that the £30 membership would be cost effective for a one off visit

Thanks

The Costco run is always fun and games.... the back of the car full of microfibres, bog roll, kitchen roll, laundry supplies, pasts and coffee pods.

To make the membership work you need certainly need to have a good variety of shopping requirements; normally family based.

The new Executive card with extra 2% discount is proving useful Carl.... plus the free bottle of wine when i signed up!  ;)

Dont think i'll be going this side of our Summer holiday though.... it'll be end of August next time.

I've Bought all sorts from there including a £2500 tv which made my 2% worthwhile before buying anything else.

But as ste said I always do the same come away with family based goodies in bulk.

The MF cloths are always very popular and I agree with ste the quality is not quite the same but not far off.

I did notice yesterday they have some new very plush MF sponges that can be worn like a mitt. They also had a mini detailing bucket full of goodies but I would say it's for a beginner really as it didn't contain many great items.

They also still do the twin pack of simonize wax in the gold tin. Never used it but it sure does look value for money as the tins are huge!

Chris like I said I go quite often so I will certainly take you next time.

In fact if I'm feeling ok over the next few days we could go? I have the in laws staying with us for 3 days so it would be ideal :)

I agree....but am I the only one who doesn't like storing all this stuff in a garage? Mine's detached and gets VERY cold in Winter and VERY hot in Summer...and I'm not sure that extremes of temperature are good for all these (especially solvent-based ) products. Fortunately, I have lots of storage space in the house!

Thanks Chris and oxonbon.

I've always kept all my detailing equipment in the garage and not had any problems with it.

But if you are lucky enough to keep it in the house without the Mrs moaning, then well done I say!
