VRS DSG oil campaign

Featured Replies

Are all cars affected ?

My mum just had hers carried out on her 2010 CAVE model but apparently my 2012 CAVE model doesnt need one ?

No not all DQ200 DSG Twin Dry Clutch 7 Speed, cars are part of the UK Service Campaign to change the Synthetic Oil to Mineral & do a Update to the ECU.

But some Dealerships are making errors and saying some cars are not part of the Service Campaign due to the VIN runs they have,

when they actually might have Synthetic Oil in from the Factory.

But you have just to trust that Skoda, VW & Franchised Dealerships know what they are doing.

I suppose if they still do not know which needs what,

they can do another 'Silent Service Campaign', or a proper Recall where they let Registered Keepers know.

My 2011 cave is going in on monday for gearbox update, ecu update and oil breather update!

No, not all cars are affected.

Give your dealer your car's Vin No. and they will tell you if yours is affected.

VrsGeo,

just be aware, the Breather Pipe / Valve Mod and ECU update,

are not as the 'ECU update' that is done when the Oil is changed in the DSG.

Different Software being up loaded.

Same result hopefully though, hopefully engine oil use issue sorted,

No issue to come in the Future with the DSG.

Cheers goneoffSKi. Ive had no issues with the gearbox its never missed a beat. If any issues it will b going straight bk! And hopefuly ma oil useage goes down some!

None of the DSG should be missing a beat,

and if they are,  it is the Mechatronic Control Unit or Clutch Packs.

The Service Campaign is not about sorting out Problems that exist, they need resolved,

It is a preventative Measure Skoda are taking,

In other Countries there are Full Recalls and Service Campaign & Mechatronic Control Units being replaced.

eg, as in NZ

.........

Twincharger Oil User issue is basically unrelated to the DSG issue, as the DSG is ain many different Skodas & VAG cars with a variety of Engines.

Really with that only a replacement engine will sort things out,

the Breather Mod & Valve is highly unlikely to resolve the problem, just delay the engine replacement.

Mine is Nov 2012 and I was told it doesn't need DSG oil change. It' CTHE engine.

Searching for oil, campaign, dsg etc yielded no helpful results, would thought this would be a sticky subject really

The titles here are like 'Fabia Recall'.

or the Ones i started that have Service Campaign.

That will be the way you used the search facility then; it works fine for me. However, I agree with your implied suggestion that a sticky on that (and other) subject(s) would make a lot of sense. Unfortunately some of the more prolific posters are concerned that this might make their repeated semi-coherent rants redundant ;)

Get the post written then and have the mods pin it. Use all your knowledge gathered from forums.
