Service intervals

Featured Replies

My 2.0l diesel 4x4 is at about 9300 miles, but the car tells me that it needs an oil change, now, rather than at the 10,000 miles indicated by the dealer sticker. It also says that the next service is due in 9400 miles.

Is the on-board service indicator condition based like in a Merc, or pre-set to a specific interval? If the latter, why is it preset to less than the stated 10,000 miles?

The service schedule is based on km not miles and 15,000 km equates to a bit under 10k miles.
