Rapid Black Edition

Featured Replies

Noticed on the Skoda website they do a Rapid Black Edition. It features 17" black rays and sat nav + other goodies. They do it on 0% APR with £2k off.

They do the Black Edition in other models as well, Spaceback, Fabia etc

Don't know whether this is a new addition or been done/shown here before.

Only really seems to add in sat nav above sport from what I can see but costs a bit more

Adds in Sat Nav+DAB radio, black 17 inch alloys as the only real upgrades over the sports pack (which already comes with tinted windows, sport seats, etc).

I'm waiting for SUK to get back to me with a price for the Spaceback Black edition. I almost ordered a red Spaceback with the sport pack this week but found out about the black edition and didn't want to loose out if it's the same price but with added extras as above.

Problem is, SUK don't seem to know the price of their own cars! No price on the dealer's system or the net (all the other models in black edition do for some reason, as can be seen on the Skoda Web site).

Starting to get frustrated with the wait now - imagine not having a price for a car that's available to the buying public. Duh.

See here, all the details in the thread, should help  :)

Thought about the black addition myself but had intended to go approved used, however we ended up signing up for a new in showroom rallye green spaceback with the full sport plus style pack, as the colour really suited the car with this option IMHO.

That'll be the business. Hope you'll enjoy it!

Well that's the price released- £18250. Not bad. Works out a better deal for us, with the extra kit priced on a SE Spaceback that we were going to order - getting metallic paint, dab radio & sat nav and black wheels for only a few hundred more! Included in the 3 big reasons deal too, so 0% finance, and servicing. Worked out OK waiting.

Oh yeah, getting it in Moon White metallic which should look smart with the black pano roof.

Yes that is a good price and we just missed out, as our from stock rallye green with sport pack order is effectively the same spec if they have a sunroof as well but with a spare wheel instead of sat nav for a retail price that's £130 more; although we did get a good deal on the actual price ;)

?

Rapid spaceback Black edition or Moon white so that will be the white edition then? :D

I'd just like to pitch in and say I'm glad somebody's buying a Rapid in Rallye Green :) Hope you enjoy it ThePlumber, if one had been available when I got mine I'd have been sorely tempted! :)

Getting my Rallye green rapid with all addons in August-September! Can't wait, still wouldn't have chosen the black edition if I could.

£18,250 is a good price for a Rapid SE with some options?

What's the used price as a trade in after a year, £12k?

Good grief when I bought my Rapid Elegance last year it seemed rather expensive at similar money so I haggled a fair old chunk off!

What is happening with Skoda's pricing, not long ago you could get a new Fabia VRS for £14,500 and my Greenline Estate was around £11,500 brand new...

Last year our Fabia Scout (63 reg) with £3k of options including nav, Climatronic, cruise, Bluetooth was noticeably cheaper than the Rapid price above!

A Fiesta ST (180bhp) can be bought cheaper, fully loaded with Bluetooth, nav, climate control, heated screen, keyless entry and start, not to mention rather nice heated Recaro seats.

Mind Blown. :(

Rapid Black. Still has a stupid looking chrome grille surround !!!!! Why, just why ???????

Do Skoda not listen

I would agree with BossFox if the extra space isn't an issue then the Fiesta ST is a defo IMO

A good price, as in the RRP if you spec'd an SE Rapid Spaceback to that level of kit but you're right Skoda has lost the plot with ever increasing prices for new examples of their cars.

However as I've found out it's not reflected in retained value when you come to change, albeit I'm being forced to change prematurely by the design of the car I have giving me health problems.

Oh have you got a shoe horn so I can fit in that Fiesta :giggle:

We have basic versions at work and they are very small inside the cabin; find our Fabia's much more comfy to travel in.

I'm not sure if it's a sign of the times when new cars sales are up and used demand is lower, but I just can't see a Rapid Sport being worth over £12k after a year.

So the trade in price is going to be eye watering.

People paying list price could be looking at loosing £7k-£8k in a year on a "budget car".

I was looking on Autotrader and the basic 1.2tsi SE Rapids that are a year old are up for sale at dealerships for £8,500.

New list price is £15,000.  Addmittedly they are a bit better specced now, but holy heck!

You could buy a whole one year old Rapid for what a sporty looking one may lose in depreciation in just one year...

100% agree with this - that's ridiculous pricing for a car that's offering last generation platform/technology.

You could be driving a brand new Fiesta ST-3 for less than £15.5k - that's a seriously fun car for a bargain amount of money.

More directly comparable maybe, a fully loaded top of the range Focus Ecoboost Titanium X for loads less. If space is a priority then even the estate in that high spec is currently less than 16.5k brand new! That gets you leather, sat nav, dab, premium 9 speaker audio, 17" alloys, active park assist including front and rear sensors, rear view camera, bi xenon lamps, heated seats, power operated seats, power fold door mirrors, tyre deflation system etc etc. Even putting aside the equipment and value its just a far nicer driving experience so Im amazed if Skoda are shifting any real number of these for the money they are asking tbh.

I only went for a rapid sport as they gave me 3k trade in for my battered fabia SDI, only worth a few hundred. If they didn't do this then there was no way I was paying list price or even anything close. Good thing about the trade in though is that I didn't have to find much of a deposit either
