Found a way around it, sending it back to my mate to do it for me :D

That's cheating I'm sure. Does he take pics and tell you the method too?

I recently watched this video of an engine bay clean, pretty good but it is an oldish engine he's working on, but good principles anyway.

I did a similar job.....not quite as much use of the pressure washer on a mates MX5 last summer

Providing the electrics are covered up it fairly safe if you use common sense

haha, I think he did before.  IIRC he uses AutoGylm products and sprays the hinges etc and various parts of the bay then uses a brush, but I wasn't there when he done it.

So a good lick with G101 - agitate with a brush - rinse - cover in 303 aerospace .....

How does that sound?

sounds bob on haha

Yeah sounds good to me, or using equivalent products. I'll be using Meguiars APC and AG Vinyl and Rubber Care when I do mine.

I am not a "detailer" but I do like to keep things clean and tidy which is not an issue with the Superb, but my better halfs motor just has no room under the bonnet to get your hands in. At least any dust and dirt doesn't show the same.

I just elbow grease degreaser for the quid shop spray it on, leave a few mins and then jetwash off.
