Spot on. The Macan is based in part on the Q5 which in turn uses the MLP platform which is the platform that most current Audis A5 or larger are based on.

I stand corrected then! But then I was not born yet for decades when Morgan first started making a chassis that way. So I guess it's ok that I didn't know.

 

I could probably arrange a visit to the factory Johann. I know one of their receptionists!

They have used a steel chassis for over 50 years. One of the original chassis's was Z shaped channel, which is a pain to repair!!

It's absolutely fine not to know! There are probably more people who'll tell you that a Morgan has a wooden chassis than there are who know it doesn't.

 

My uncle had a Plus 8 some years ago - it was magnificent. Lots of things not right about it but it made such a good noise and looked fantastic.
