Electric windows on rear doors?

Featured Replies

I haven't been able to find anything on or whether it's possible or not to achieve electric windows for the rear doors. It's something I'd love to get done at some point but haven't seen any particular topics or information on it. I'd assume you'd be able to use some of the parts from a mk4 golf for it but I'll bow down to anyone else's superior knowledge on the subject.

If it's not possible then fair dues but I'd love to know. I know it wouldn't be easy, door cards, switches etc. to rig up however think it would be ace in one of these. Mines a Seat Ibiza however we share same basic internals so figured I'd ask here as the forum is slightly more active than SeatCupra.net.

I'd also like the 4 controls at the front, drivers side, like the newer cars and more modern so would be interested in that too, if of course its possible in the first place.

I've wondered too, I think the top spec Fabia has electric rear windows. Have always liked the idea of a swap as it's such a let down to open the rear doors and find manual winders!

I think it's been said that some of the (early?) fabia elegance models had all four electric windows. Think there's been a few threads on the subject. Best bet would be to find such a fabia and utilise the whole rear doors.

Not that this is any good for you with an ibiza though :D

Tell you what's more annoying is the lack of the lock pins on the rear doors on my BLT! They were on Joel's ASZ when he took me out and look uniform in the car!

I had two early Fabia Elegance and they DID have powered-windows all round.

My previous elegance had rear electric windows. Loved them and was much fancier. Probly used them twice though.

Pffft. Let the peasants in the back wind down their own windows I say!

I find that with the rear window/s open when driving, creates buffeting wind pressure with sound, which plays havoc with my ears, gotta tell rear passenger/s shut the window please.

To compensate I open the sunroof fully and have the breeze without the wind pressure etc, and everyone benefits.
