Performance Oil But No DPF

Featured Replies

Hey guys

For a long time now I've ran my car on nothing but Shell Helix Ultra Extra 5w30 (VW.507)

I've been having a proper look and it basically a low ash oil or something especially for cars with DPFs.

My DPF has been removed for ages courtesy of Shark ( top job ) so my question is should I stick with the same oil even though I no longer have a dpf ( maybe it'll help keep the EGR a touch cleaner ) or can/should I change to something else?

507 is the highest rated vw standard. You can keep using it. I prefer to use something in 5w40 flavour though as the 30 always seems very thin when warmed up

5w40 would be vw505.01 ? Im sure all 507 is 5w30

For the sake of a few extra quid I'd be sticking to VW 507.00.

Not only is it low ash (for the now missing DPF) but it is also long life.
