I had wanted a Mk1 Octavia vRS for a while and I had a chance to buy a low miles 2001 car with 110k

 

Well it all went wrong from that point on ,

 

x4 new tyres (I knew I needed to do this)

I ended up having to put x4 new calipers/disc/pads

new headlights

then found a lot of the interior clips had been broken, needed a new boot seal and a few other things...

 

The big one! 3 weeks into ownership on my way home from work the Red oil pressure light came on and then a few seconds later the car came to a stop!

 

I'm now on the lookout for an AUQ engine :(

 

I'm not giving up on her just yet but im close to it!!!!

 

Anyway thats my story so far and i will update with pictures soon.

Cant help with the engine, but I guess it was the oil pickup becoming blocked which stopped the oil flow, very common problem on the vRS and should be replaced at regular intervals.

The oil strainer had blocked :(

Shame your in NI, Devonutopia on here has just finished breaking a vRS and a few days ago still had the engine.

Well I don't mind paying postage!
