engine management light after timing belt & water pump change

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently got my brother to take my 09 LE Octavia Vrs CR into a dealer to get a service including T/belt and water pump. About 30 miles after picking the car up, the engine management light came on & after looking in the manual, he says it is something to do with exhaust emissions. The car was driving fine & didn't go into limp home mode.  I am working offshore at the moment & cant really do much about it at the moment, but has anyone else had a similar experience? or does anyone have any pointers as to what the problem could be?

I live quite a distance from a skoda dealer, but I will arange for a local garage to do a plug in to see what that throws up. Hopefully its something stupid, but it seems very strange that this happens just after the timing belt & water pump has been changed.

Modern cars are a pain in the arse when this s#@t happens, maybe time to go old school hot hatch ;)

Needs to be plugged into diagnostic scanner, anything else would be guesswork.

:swear:  DPF fault .............. co-incidence that it happened straight after coming out of a stealers? That will remain a mystery!

Now to trawl the forums for more tips!

it could just be the DPF pressure sensor which is a very common issue rather than the DPF itself.

Thanks for the info - I seen that on an audi forum. Hopefully theres a cheap fix, especially since I plan to sell it & hire a car for when I'm on leave.

Hi Everyone,

I have got the exact same problem as @vrs217 after replacing timing belt and water pump on my 2015 Skoda Octavid MK3 Estate with 1.6l TDI engine. All the fault codes are related to the DPF. Fault Codes are P047000, P245200, P245600. All the faults are related to exhaust pressure sensor A circuit. Car drives well without any other issue. I have replaced the DPF pressure sensor, but fault still comeback after reset. Did not do any adaptation. Wiring and connector is refectly fine. I took the car to Skoda and they are suggesting to replace the DPF pressure sensor once more. if issue does not get fixed, then they propose to change the EGR valve. If anyone experienced similar issue, please reply to this.

@vrs217, Hi Mate, How did you fix the DPF fault which came after the timing belt change?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome,

maybe @varooomcould help, or others will see this during the day.

There are a few threads if you search forum for P2456, and a few where this occurs after changing timing belt.

Can you expand on the details of the car/sensor?

Mileage

What was the old sensor part number and new part number if changed

Do you have VCDS, if so was you able to adapt sensor (not always possible)

Can you take a picture of sensor in situ
