Connects2 aux device not recognised on CD channel?

Featured Replies

I bought a Connects2 CTVSKX001 for my Skoda Fabia '02 so I can plug in my phone for music. I've plugged it all in but when I click CD it just says "no disc", I unplugged everything from the radio and plugged the device back in again and now I've locked the radio like muppet. Is there a reason its not recognising the device? I had my phone plugged in playing music at the time.

This is what I've bought: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Connects2-CTVSKX001-Octavia-Adaptor-Interface/dp/B005FMYBDK/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1405362412&sr=1-2&keywords=Connects2+skoda

P.S I have my radio unlock code, last owner scrawled it on the manual but when its typed in nothing happens. Is there a button to press to confirm the code?

Ah yes I have the Symphony, thankyou! I could only find German manuals >_< I shall try to unlock again tomorrow morning.

Can't think what is wrong with the Connects2, it seems too simple to go wrong?

I had a read around, but I am very very novice at car related things and I don't know what earth lead it is referring to... as far as I can tell everything is firmly plugged in?

Did you plug it into the right place? It can go in any of the three slots.

I did try other slots but the way the pins are laid out only let it fit in one place.

Someone on Amazon has suggested:  "You need to go into the main settings of the radio and turn on the function cd changer to on" So I'm gonna start working out how to do this today...

There was no CD changer option on mine - it just worked. You access the menu by holding TP down.

Have you tried selecting CD then pressing a number (I.e selecting a disk?). Or pressing CD and then waiting a moment and pressing CD again?

Also consider having your device volume at full and the radio turned up a little louder than normal.

Ok, so I've unlocked the radio now and got it running as usual, I probably wont get a chance to play with the radio settings and stuff until after work later though.

I've identified the ground cable but at the moment have no idea what to do with it, its just a small black cable with no connector on the end - just exposed wire. Off to do some reading to try work out what to do with it!

EDIT: from the diagrams it seems that I just need to shove it in a small hole at the back... will update later when I've had a look again.

When I fitted mine, i used a bit of gaffa tape to secure the earth cable to some bare metal on the back of the stereo. It's probably not where it's supposed to go, but it works fine.

Aha! So yes, this little black cable is the ground - not some weird aerial... ahem. Its now wrapped around some screw lookin' thing behind the radio and my music sound great!

Thank you everyone, for your help and suggestions!
